Beautiful, shiny, ruby-red color. Balanced and enticing nose that perfectly combines fresh fruit and wood tones. Red fruits and other berries are also present in the taste. Fleshy start with impressions of cherries, strawberries, and berries with hints of cedar, leather, coffee, and a touch of vanilla. The very pleasant and perfectly balanced style continues into the long and velvety finish.
Classic meat dishes and French cuisine in general. Filet mignon with sauce, fine game such as roe deer and doe, Coq au vin, semi-cooked foie gras, pork tenderloin, and veal.
- climate
-
Moderate maritime climate influenced by nearby flowing rivers. The Dordogne provides more cooling while extensive forests protect the vineyards from cold ocean air.
- soil
-
Sandy gravel soils with white clay. Organically cultivated and only ecologically responsible sprays used. Separate vineyard with old vines and ideal sun orientation.
- vinification
-
80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Each plot undergoes separate fermentation in concrete tanks with regular pump-overs. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 14 to 16 months in a mix of new oak (24%), barrels used for one wine (10%), barrels used for two wines (12%), large wooden vats, and amphorae (54%). Then the blend is made and the wine is bottled.
