2021 Galan Vineyards Reserva Privada Cabernet Sauvignon 0.75 Ltr. Tinto
picture of

Beautiful, dark garnet red to ruby red color. Aromas of black currant, cassis and cherries mingle with spicy notes of pepper and tobacco complemented by noble impressions of leather, cedar and cocoa. Robust wine that combines power with elegance. In the finale, these impressions are confirmed and complemented by more toasty notes. Wonderfully long finish.

Cabernet asks for a hearty snack like no other grape. The combination of wood and Cabernet Sauvignon therefore calls for hearty red meat dishes (whether or not matured). Game such as doe and roebuck also like to be combined, but you can actually serve almost any hearty piece of roasted meat with it.

climate

Located quite southerly between ideal latitudes, Maule Valley is slightly cooler than other major wine regions in Chile. It enjoys slightly more precipitation that falls mainly in winter and many hours of sunshine. It is warm during the day and the temperature drops sharply at night, making it probably the most privileged wine valley in Chile. The general characteristics are comparable to a Mediterranean climate.

soil

The vineyards are located in Maule Valley near Curicó. The Maule River supplies the valley with alluvial sedimentary rocks. The soils are quite varied and consist of granite, red clay, loam and gravel. The soils on the slopes are poorer and with good water management. In the valley itself on the river, the subsoil is richer with higher yields.

vinification

Grapes are picked by hand in the cool of the morning. After selection, they are gently pressed and the pellets are macerated. The fermentation takes place under controlled temperature in stainless steel barrels. After a few months, the wine is transferred to wooden barrels to mature further. Then it is bottled.
